Boarding Kennels Melbourne

FAQ

What are your opening hours?

We are open 9am to 5pm every day except Saturday when we close at midday. Our office is also closed on all public holidays.

What is included in the cat and dog boarding fees?

At All Breeds boarding kennels and cattery Melbourne, we have a single day rate for dogs and a single day rate for cats. A reduced fee applies for second and subsequent pets. Everything is included in our daily fee. We do not raise our prices for holiday periods or charge extra for bigger pets.

Dog minding at All Breeds includes indoor heated and air-conditioned accommodation, all food and bedding provided and four social exercise sessions with other dogs daily. If your dog stays more than five days, the fee even includes a wash and dry before going home.

Cat boarding fees give your cat indoor, air-conditioned accommodation in a large walk-in enclosure plus hidey holes, scratch posts, food and bedding. Multiple cats from one family or cats staying for an extended period can book a double-sized enclosure at a small additional cost.

We give all types of medication. These are all included in the daily boarding fees except the giving of injections which incur an extra fee.

Our cat and dog minding fees are charged by the day. This means you pay for the day your pet comes in regardless of drop-off time. On pickup day, you will not be charged for that day provided your pet is picked up before midday.

All Breeds offers dog training, natural therapies and pet food and equipment as additional, optional charges.

What type of vaccinations does my pet require?

For dogs we require a minimum of C5 vaccination. For cats a minimum of F3 vaccination is required. Vaccinations have to have been given within the preceding 12 months.

Is there a minimum stay over the peak periods?

Yes. Over Christmas holidays there is a minimum stay of fourteen days, over Easter the minimum is ten days.

Over peak periods you will be asked to pay for your pet’s stay at the time of drop-off. If you pick up your pet before the scheduled pickup date the fees for the remaining days are not refundable.

Outside peak periods there is no minimum stay requirement. For dogs we do overnight or even day-stays if you just need your dog looked after for a short while. Cats have a minimum stay of two nights.

Do you require a deposit to confirm a booking?

Yes. We will require a deposit to confirm bookings over peak periods. This deposit is not refundable but may be used for a subsequent booking providing you cancel more than fourteen days before your pet was due to board with us.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We take Visa, MasterCard, EFTPOS and cash for all cat and dog minding.

I would like my dog to be groomed whilst he is boarding. Can this be arranged?

All dogs staying more than five days will be washed and dried at no extra charge before going home. You can also pay for a wash as part of a short stay. A comprehensive dog grooming service is available so your dog can have the full treatment during its stay at All Breeds. We can do anything from a toenail trim to a full clip and groom.

Will you house my dog with another in the kennels?

No, our dog minding services ensure all of the dogs that stay in our kennels have their own accommodation. Dogs spend so much time outside playing in groups that they like to have their own space to rest and relax when back inside their dog kennel. Of course if you have two dogs from the same family we are more than happy to have them share a large run.

What sort of exercise will my dog get?

As the leader in all inclusive dog kennels in Melbourne, All Breeds does it all. Fromdog training and dog grooming to natural therapies and regular social exercise, your dogs are treated as our own.

Dogs are exercised a minimum of four times every day regardless of weather conditions. At All Breeds, dogs run out in social groups. Your dog will spend time with dogs of similar size and temperament while under close supervision of an experienced member of staff.

My dog loves to play with other dogs. Can he be exercised with other dogs?

Yes, as all inclusive dog kennels in Melbourne, socialisation of dogs is what sets us apart. We love to see compatible dogs mix and play together. Of course we supervise all interaction.

My dog is aggressive towards other dogs. Will he be accepted?

Unfortunately dogs with a history of aggression will not be accepted at All Breeds. We specialise in socialisation of dogs so dogs that can't cope in this environment are better off in a traditional kennels.

Please note there are also some breeds of dogs that we do not accept into our kennels. We have these restrictions in place the ensure an enjoyable stay for all dogs boarded here. Please call us if you would like to discuss your dogs’ behaviours before booking.

I have more than one dog. Can they be penned together?

Yes, as specially designed dog kennels in Melbourne, our enclosures are big enough for even giant breeds to share.

What food do the dogs and cats get?

Dogs are fed 4Legs Chicken and Rice. This is a premium quality food made locally. 4Legs contains no colours, preservatives or artificial ingredients. We also like to give the dogs raw chicken necks and wings as treats. If your dog has special dietary requirements we will feed this at no extra cost.

If you prefer we can feed your dog an entirely raw natural diet. The raw diet consists of Big Dog BARF food and soft meaty bones as well as raw fish and omega oils if required. There is an additional charge for a full raw diet.

We stock a huge range of cat foods. Just let us know what your cat usually has at home and we'll make sure we feed the same. We are happy to feed a special diet. Please make sure you provide enough food and instructions if required.

How are the kennels and cattery cleaned?

Every occupied dog run is fully disinfected then pressure-washed and dried every day. This all happens while the dogs are out having their morning run. All food and water bowls are washed and disinfected every day. Vacated runs and all bedding are disinfected when a dog goes home.

Cat enclosures are fully vacuumed and disinfected as necessary each day. Bedding and toys are disinfected at the end of each cats' stay. Litter trays are changed each time they have been used.

Do I need to bring anything along with my dog or cat?

At All Breeds dog kennels, we provide all bedding, bowls etc. If your pet has a special blanket or toy, it is fine to bring this as long as your pets' name is clearly marked. Cats must arrive in a secure carrier. Dogs on lead. The only other requirement is that you bring your pets' vaccination certificate and any special food or medication with you.
